Glossary
Plain-English definitions for the terms used across Crypheat.
- Heat score
- A deterministic, relative indicator (0–100) of how hot an asset is running versus its own recent baseline, within the current market regime. Not a price forecast or a valuation.
- Regime
- A market-wide gate derived from Bitcoin's 30-day trend and dominance, applied to every asset as a multiplier.
- Momentum
- An asset's own 7-day and 30-day price trend.
- Liquidity
- The absolute level of 24-hour traded volume — a measure of whether there is enough trading for a price move to be one you could act on.
- Fundamentals (in this context)
- Total value locked on the chain relative to market cap — a rough usage-versus-valuation test.
- Supply lightness
- Circulating supply divided by total supply. Lower means more dilution still to come.
- Geometric mean
- A way of averaging where one weak input drags the whole result down and no single strong input can carry it — used here so heat fires only when several conditions align.
- TVL (total value locked)
- The dollar value of assets deposited into a chain's protocols. A usage proxy; can be double-counted.
- Market cap
- Price multiplied by circulating supply.
- FDV (fully diluted valuation)
- Price multiplied by total supply — the market cap if every token were already circulating. A large gap versus market cap signals future dilution.
- Circulating supply
- The number of tokens currently on the market, versus total or maximum supply.
- Unlock / vesting
- A scheduled future release of locked tokens, which increases circulating supply and can add sell pressure.
- Wash trading
- Trades that do not change beneficial ownership, used to inflate reported volume.
- Dominance
- Bitcoin's share of total crypto market cap; a common read on risk appetite.
- Risk-on / risk-off
- Market conditions favoring (risk-on) or fleeing (risk-off) volatile assets such as altcoins.
